Richard Jones  

 

Professor Richard Jones leads the Knee Biomechanics and Injury research theme at the University of Salford and is also the Biomechanics research lead at the Manchester Institute for Health and Performance (MIHP). Richard has authored over 100 research papers in the fields of footwear, orthoses, pathological and healthy gait, musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. Richard is a member of the Versus Arthritis Musculoskeletal Disorders Research Advisory Group and is internationally recognised in the field of knee osteoarthritis. Richard has been utilising motion capture for the past 25 years ensuring that the biomechanical information gained has clinical applications. Within his role at the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP), Richard leads on return to activity and sport biomechanical assessments ensuring that biomechanical outcomes are inputted back to the clinical teams to ensure mitigation of future risk and post-traumatic degenerative conditions.
