Jessica Lawson BVetMed PhD MRCVS 

Jess spent a large proportion of her clinical career in the USA, undertaking two internships and then returning to Kentucky as an ambulatory vet. Jess returned to the UK to undertake a PhD in Prof. de Mestre’s Equine Pregnancy Laboratory at the Royal Veterinary College, exploring the incidence, causes and diagnostic features of abortion attributed to an umbilical cord torsion in Thoroughbreds. Jess has stayed on at the RVC as a Research Fellow and is continuing her work on umbilical cord torsion and abortion more widely, using epidemiological and genetic methodologies.
