Christoph Koch
Christoph Koch Prof. Dr. med. vet., Dipl. ACVS & ECVS
Christoph grew up in Germany, Switzerland, and the United States, and studied veterinary medicine in Switzerland and France. His professional life started in private ambulatory and referral practice before pursuing a career in academia. After completing a surgical internship and residency in the U.S., Christoph returned to Switzerland where he is now head of the division for equine surgery at the Equine Clinic of the University of Bern. Christoph is interested in all aspects of equine surgery and is actively involved in the clinical service, teaching, clinical research, and training of interns and residents. As a researcher, he particularly enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams and hopes to provide practical solutions to problems we face in our everyday job as veterinarians. Although he is trying to keep a broad and diverse approach to research, his publications have focused on equine sarcoid disease and, more recently, computer-assisted surgery.
