Bruce McGorum BSc (Vet Pathol), BVM&S, PhD, CEIM, DipECEIM, FRCVS
Bruce is Professor of Equine Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and is an RCVS and European Specialist in Equine Medicine. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1985, worked for three years in mixed practice in England, before returning to Edinburgh as HBLB Resident, under the guidance of Professor Padraic Dixon. He was awarded a PhD on severe equine asthma in 1992. He was an Invited Specialist and Founding Diplomate of the ECEIM in 2001. He was awarded the AHT Veterinary Achievement Award in 2004. He provides specialist veterinary care for horses referred to the Dick Vet Equine Hospital. His research focussing on equine pulmonary disease, hepatic disease, sudden death in equine athletes and grass sickness, has yielded over 170 peer-reviewed publications.
